Shower Thoughts: The Beginning...

I've just had a shower- as I do every morning (or afternoon). Whilst showering I managed to conjure up a thought; more specifically, I thought of an idea for my blog. I thought that maybe, just maybe, it might be interesting to document my daily shower thoughts. As we all know, our most profound and enlightening moments come when in the bathroom, either in the shower or on the toilet. So there it is, a new premise for a, to-date, rather directionless blog. Over the course of time it is hoped that my experiment will shed new scientific light on the age-old questions of: what is the effect of warm water on the brain? What is the most sung song in the shower? and, to what extent can random fluctuations in water temperature drive a man crazy? I know: sacrificing myself for the greater good of science. It might sound crazy but I, for one, am committed to removing the ignorance of the greater part of humanity by finally revealing, once and for all: just what does go on in the average brain whist in the shower? And I, the noble scientist, invite you, the intrepid reader, to join me in my quest for enlightenment: to boldly go where no blog has gone before.

congrats on your new blog... if your preferences run to hygene and rumination, may I suggest a bath? My residence has only a tub and, given the permanent placement of thing (architecture-wise) a showerhead would be impossible to install... so, when in Rome, take a Roman bath... I've made it part of my routine... lots of variety in soaps, scrubs, salts and soak paraphenalia... and lots of reading material... make daily washing a sensory and Socratic experience... perhaps will check in later to see how things go here. Ta.

Thanks for the interest- suggestions noted. However, speaking as a scientist (as opposed to a connoisseur of cleansing products) the matter of "soaps, scrubs, salts and soak paraphenalia" concerns me insofar as their use necessarily introduces a number of uncontrolled variables of unknown influence upon the human brain. Of course, the same concerns may be expressed for reading whilst undergoing the cleansing process. For these reasons (and, it may be noted, with a gargantuan excercise of the will) the subject- namely: me, shall refrain from the use of cleansing products which are deemed to cause a level of excitement or interest above a specific, pre-decided level. Similarly, the excercise of reading shall be confined to a level no higher than can be reasonably expected under normal showering conditions. To elucidate: I shall refrain from the reading of magazines and other such materials whilst showering, however, should occasion arise I shall not feel obliged to refrain from the reading of the back of a shampoo bottle, should the mood take me.
Nevertheless, thank you for your input. Happy bathing.

Hi M. Thanks for stopping by my blog. I appreciated your thoughts on Job. I intend to stop by your blog again soon.

For what it's worth, I believe that "Respect" as sung by Aretha Franklin is the most sung shower tune.

Thanks again,
Kristen
